Quality Use of Medicines

The Quality Use of Medicines Program aims to work with your practice to:

  • Improve health outcomes for your patients
  • Achieve better prescribing and use of medicines
  • Improve quality use of medicines (QUM) awareness, competence and skills for health professionals and consumers

National Prescribing Service

GPpA works in partnership with the National Prescribing Service Ltd (NPS) to provide independent evidence based information and support to health professionals and consumers on the quality use of medicines through education and quality assurance activities, local programs, training and skills development.

Reporting Medicine and Vaccine Adverse Events

Everyone plays an important role in monitoring the safety of medicines, including vaccines, by reporting any suspected adverse events to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). For information regarding the process please see this attachment: Reporting Medicine and Vaccine Adverse Events
